Flying Saucer House for sale
For Sale: A mountainside home in Tennessee with three bedrooms, two baths, and an entrance staircase that retracts with the push of a button. Perfect for space enthusiasts and would-be astronauts. Must be tolerant of sightseers and gawkers.
The home “landed” on a twisty road leading to Chattanooga’s Signal Mountain in 1970, about the time of the moon landings. The home’s unusual shape — sort of like two white Frisbees pasted together — poses some interior decorating challenges. The curve of the exterior creates a sloping ceiling and short side walls, but there’s also a striking curved bar and custom bathtub.
The house was posted on e-Bay and already has a $100,000 bid. The late Curtis W. King and his family built the unusual home because “they liked to do unusual things”.
World’s Craziest Fences
They say “good fences make good neighbors,” so would a crazy fence drive your neighbors crazy?
The yard behind this fence obviously belongs to a skier. Given how expensive skis are, there must be a mansion sitting behind that fence!
16 Extreme Beds
We humans spend nearly one-third or our lives asleep, and yet most of us spend all that time on a boring, rectangular box-spring bed. But with this collection of 16 of the world’s most extreme and modern beds, sleeping will never again be the same.
The “Private Cloud” bed at left looks like a giant rocking chair, and would surely provide an interesting experience for couples who use their bed for more than just sleep.
